Objectifs de l’enseignement :
The purpose of Academic Presentataion subject matter is to improve the students’ academic writing, speaking
and communicative skills, increasing their knowledge about AP techniques and gives them confidence to make effective speeches and presentations in English.
By the end of the semester, the students will be able to summarise a research work, prepare a PPT projection and stand confidently in front of and an audience for an oral presentation in English.
Connaissances préalables recommandées: Students shoulhave been acquainted to the basics of oral presentation and mastered the use of visual aids considering the audience
Contenu de la matière
- Powerful techniques of writing/ speaking : Reminder (repetition, rhetorical questions, rule of three…)
- Using visual aids: The use and preparation of an effective PPT
- Sammarising a research work for a PPT projection
- More techniques: convincing/powerful language (smile and body language, metaphor and analogy, storytelling, anecdote, self-disclosure).
- Preparing a full presentation
- Preparation for the big day (Surviving the viva voice, answering strategies)
