Algebra 2, or linear algebra, is a branch of mathematics concerned with vectors and matrices, their linear combinations, and operations. This course is destinated for the first year infomatics/ Mathematiques LMD.
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
Memorize the definitions, properties, and theorems related to vector spaces, linear mappings, matrices, and systems of equations.
Explain the fundamental concepts such as linear independence, dimension, the kernel and image of a linear map.
Compute a basis, the dimension of a space.
Analyze the structure of vector spaces and linear maps to determine linear independence, basis, dimension, and rank.
Construct a linear map with a kernel and a specified range.
Combine the concepts of basis and dimension to design new coordinate systems for given vector spaces.
Evaluate the effectiveness of different concepts in solving problems related to dimension, basis, and linear maps.
